 HOW COCONUT SHELL CHARCOAL IS MADE Collection of coconut shell , drying  ( sun drying of  drying  using hot air drying chamber /blower) , carbonization : there are two approaches to carbonize . Direct method using  drum klin , brick klin and pit klin, with this method ,  after all the shells are burned in to charcoal the klin will be closed to prevent the oxygen continue burning charcoal to ash   The indirect method is like a retort of brick or steel. Retort can be operate batch by batch or continuously.     The ideal temperature to convert coconut shell charcoal is from 450 Deg C to 550 Deg C .  All prepared charcoal will be cooled naturally without watering , this is to ensure that the charcoal produced does not contain unacceptable leverls of moisture Screening    ALL  the charcoal that is ready goes through the filtering process. This is to ensure that the charcoal is clean from any impurities, such as in complete carbonation , husk charcoal, foreign matter such as stones , wood iron or other wastes.  Coconut shell activated carbon is refined with coconut shell as raw material, and its shape is amorphous particles. It has the characteristics of high mechanical strength, developed pore structure, large specific surface area, fast adsorption speed, high adsorption capacity, easy regeneration and durability.The iodine value of coconut shell activated carbon used for drinking water should not be less than 700mg / g, the surface area should not be less than 800m2 / g, and the particle size is usually 0.35-1.5mm.
